The Future of Playtesting and Contributing to the Genesys Project
Emails have been sent out to many people regarding playtesting, based on what each person said they were interested in when they registered. I wanted to give a break down of what to expect as we move forward out of the Open Beta Playtest and towards the release of the game.
First off if you did not receive an email, and want to make certain you are still on the list to playtest, shoot me an email at natfka@live.com. This will insure that you are available for playtesting beyond the Open Beta, up to and through the release of the game. Playtesting will be more direct and focused approaching each release, and limited to those contributing results. This will also mean that different groups may be testing different areas of the game depending upon the needs and what is coming next. For example one group may testing the final versions of the 3rd Age Humanoids, while another group works on the Biests, testing crossovers etc.
Through the month of February the Open Beta will continue, with players that are still using the Open Beta to be able to submit questions and feedback from the Open Beta documents beyond the end of the Open Beta.
While the release date will be "when it is ready", we are looking have the first release of the Genesys Project this year, towards the first half of summer, Q2 1/2.
There are 6 books geared towards being released this year, starting off with the Core Rules and the Humanoid Primarius. This will include rules for playing in any of the 3 Ages of the Genesys Project. Following the Humanoid Primarius will be the Fey, Reptilia, Biests, and Insekt books. Remember that each book is rather large, allowing for hundreds of different races/factions to be built and played in a single book. Then of course there are the cross-over factions which use multiple books and creates an endless amount of variability.
Myself and the team working on the Genesys Project are really excited for this year, as releasing the game will be a monumental event in the process of this game (which has been worked on for years now approx 4-5). The best part being... that this is only the beginning.
